American Teen is a wild coming-of-age comedy about when four high school friends throw a viral social media-fueled party, the entire State of Arizona shows up. The school principal and resource officer launch a relentless manhunt to shut it down-but chaos and crushes ignite a night so wild, it forces the National Guard to mobilize, bringing the party of the century and its hosts to an explosive end.

Set in a hyper-connected world, the film captures what it means to be “Young, Dumb, and Broke” — blending raunchy humor with emotional punch. Inspired by Khalid’s debut album, American Teen, it channels the chaotic energy of Superbad, Project X, and the comedic spirit of B-Rad from Malibu’s Most Wanted — but with more action, sharper comedy, and a cast that genuinely reflects today’s generation.

The project is led by writer, actor, director, producer, and music supervisor Jay Bjelić, a Black and Slavic filmmaker. Together with a committed cast and crew who’ve worked closely for over a year, they’ve built a real chemistry that shows on screen. On the music side, relationships have already been established with publishers and record labels to fast-track sync licensing for a soundtrack that hits as hard as the story itself.
